NMEA 0183 is a combined electrical and data specification for communication between marine electronics such as echo sounder, sonars, anemometer, gyrocompass, autopilot, GPS receivers and many other types of instruments.

- determines the coordinates of the vessel in the water area 10 times per second, which provides operational control of the route with the possibility of correcting it in case of deviation;
- provides input of 500 waypoints of the planned route;
- displays the passage along the route in real time;
- determines the speed, time, track angle and distance traveled.
