In this review, the topRik team selects the best yachts between 20 and 25 meters, all valued over 2 million euros. It is not surprising there were exclusively catamarans among them, both sailing and motorized. We will talk about the features of each participant in the list and try to justify our choice, supplementing it with appropriate photos.

 

Fountain Pajot Alegria 67

Sailing catamaran Fountaine Pajot Alegria 67 is the famous progenitor of its equally famous motor version Power 67, which was also a member of our previous lists. But the Alegria 67 is the flagship of Fountaine Pajot, and in the case of this boat, we can already talk not only about the feel of the superyacht, but about the full accordance to such level of comfort.

In essence, Alegria 67 is a luxury hotel afloat with a few rooms just for the elite. For these lucky ones, there is a huge comfortable sunbathing area on the foredeck, where, at the choice of the owner, you can arrange a spa or a jacuzzi.

This catamaran is a comfort zone not only for passengers, but also for the skipper and his assistant. And this is the entire crew for such a huge vessel? – you might ask. Yes, as long as you don't need a steward and a cook and an attendant to fill the jacuzzi.

All passengers and crew are free to move, dine, work, sunbathe, have fun at parties and relax in their cabins, using the entire usable area of the catamaran, which includes:

• 12 m² cockpit;
• 39 m² of saloon;
• 37 m² flybridge;
• 22 m² owner's cabin;
• from 3 to 6 cabins of various sizes, depending on the chosen configuration option.

That is, the buyer of Alegria 67 can choose the option of this luxury and comfort, depending on the purpose for which the boat is purchased.

Six double cabins with private bathrooms are provided in the Charter version. In this version, as in the Maestro version, the galley can be moved below deck into one of the floats, or left in the saloon. This is how the saloon looks like, where there is no galley. As you can see, the entire space is almost visibly divided into zones: a work area with a navigator's table, relaxation with a huge corner sofa that can be converted into a bed using a fold-out ottoman, and a dining area with a large folding table, sofa and pouffe.

By opening fully sliding doors, the saloon can be combined with the cockpit and become a club with a dance floor, upholstered furniture and a stunning panorama of the space surrounding the catamaran.

The hydraulic platform can become an additional sunbathing area, carry a large transom boat, or serve as a cook's workbench grilling food in the cockpit.

Yeah, here's the ladder to the flybridge. As it freely settled down here, it does not interfere at all and does not restrict movement - with such wide side decks it’s not surprising.

On the flybridge we see the same clear division into zones. This can only be welcomed, since no one will interfere with the helmsman, and passengers do not risk getting entangled in the ropes. Although in this case it can be avoided if the ropes are dumped into containers specially designed for this when needed. See how luxurious seats are in front of each helm, how well thought out the instrument panels and winches are. Everything is at arm's length or within walking distance.

Behind the helmsmen there is a zone for loafers and sybarites, in which you can find many soft sofas, comfortable sunbeds and other comfortable seats, a small galley for outdoor cooking, a refrigerator, a freezer and other attributes of an idle life.

It remains to look into the cabins and just admire how the designers have taken into account all the needs that may arise in a long autonomous voyage. The deluxe master cabin is the deluxe suite of this waterfront hotel.

Other cabins may differ only in size, but all of them have excellent beds and necessary amenities, portholes and high ceilings.

And this is what a full-fledged galley looks like, which is located in one of the floats. It has all the necessary kitchen equipment, sinks, cabinets, cabinets and shelves for storage, a refrigerator and freezers. Natural light falls on the desk and the ventilation is provided through the same opening side window.

With all this luxury, the naval architects of Berret Racoupeau made no concessions in favor of comfort at the expense of seaworthiness and autonomy. For this, three engine options are provided in terms of power - from 110 to 230 hp, as well as tanks for 1200 liters of fuel and 1000 liters of water. The rig area is 230 m², including the mainsail and genoa.

 

Lagoon Sixty 5 or Lagoon 65

Sailing double-hull vessel Lagoon Sixty 5 serves an important role due to its origins and placement in the Lagoon range of catamarans. It was with the release of this cat that the shipyard confirmed that it creates visually identical motor and sailing double-hull yachts.

Lagoon Sixty 5 is the little brother of the great Lagoon Seventy 7, who (spoiler!) became the leader of our list. And you will immediately recognize them as close relatives with identical Lagoon 's DNA.

We can say that this is an almost complete copy of the largest representatives of the entire Lagoon line that was reduced in size, if we talk about the helm, keels and floats.

The double helm station is also placed on the flybridge. The helms have a traditional shape, behind them are panels at a convenient distance. Electric (or manual, at the choice of the buyer) winches are located right in front of the mast.

The skipper on the flybridge will not suffer from loneliness. He will always be supported by a friendly company of friends or family at the table. Sometimes the windows in the roof are not enough for a complete view of the sailing rig.

To have something to serve, there is a small galley, a refrigerator and an ice cream freezer. A large table and soft comfortable sofas complete the interior. Fresh air, sails and stunning panoramic all-round visibility - excellent!

The helm is surprisingly obedient, under sails with a wind of 10 knots, the cat develops a speed of 7 knots, but if the wind is weaker, this speed cannot be achieved. On 175 hp engines (optional) and with a fuel consumption of about 20 l/h, a cruising speed of 9 knots at 1800 rpm can be achieved.

So the architects have managed to successfully combine comfort and seaworthiness: sailing enthusiasts will enjoy the comfort of control, and guests will enjoy life at sea or ocean in the luxurious atmosphere of a superyacht.

Ten people can comfortably accommodate in her cabins, cockpit, saloon, flybridge and foredeck. At the same time, they will not physically limit each other even when meeting on the side deck.

The same 10 people can have breakfast, lunch or drinks in several places at once. We have already appreciated the flybridge, now look how much space there is in the cockpit. There is also a mini-galley and a fridge-freezer.

If you go into the saloon, you will also find a dining area with a large table and a cozy sofa with a low table, where you can have such a great time with friends and cocktails.

The bow of the Lagoon 65 is also ready to receive part of the company - for this there are comfortable sofas and sun loungers. The deck is covered with natural teak, which will prevent slipping even when it gets wet from splashes.

After descending into the float, you can use the full galley or find it in the saloon, depending on which cabin and galley configuration you choose. The galley, which is located in one of the floats, is shown in the photo below.

When choosing Lagoon Sixty 5 for sale, the buyer is offered options that provide from 4 to 6 cabins.

The master cabin option transfers to the sole use of the owner the area that occupies the entire float. Everything is provided here so that the owner can get away and have some “me time” here.

Other cabins are also quite comfortable, their beds depend on the purpose of the cabins: for children, you can choose a two-level bed, for a couple - an island bed. And notice how high the ceilings are everywhere!

Lagoon Sixty 7 or Lagoon 67

The only power catamaran Lagoon Sixty 7 took an honorable third place. This is a kind of barrier between catamarans, the cost of which does not reach 3 million euros, and catamarans, the price of which approaches 5 million.

The team of VPLP naval architects and interior designers from Nauta Design successfully completed the difficult task of providing the vessel with a level of comfort of Lagoon Seventy 8 on the cat, which is 5 meters shorter.

The result is a power catamaran with the perfect balance of luxurious comfort and high performance at more affordable price.

And if the choice of color emphasizes the special position of Lagoon Sixty 7 in the shipyard’s line of catamarans, then in its outlines and design, its DNA are recognizable, uniting the latest models of Lagoon catamarans.

Like all representatives of this Lagoon family Sixty 7 has on board all the signs of a comfortable life that the passengers should have on a long autonomous cruise:

• wide side decks, spacious recreation and work areas located on three levels - luxurious cabins below deck, saloon, cockpit and foredeck, flybridge above the main deck, which ensures convenience and safety when moving;
• the opportunity to relax or throw a party for a large group of people;
• take any luggage you need on a cruise thanks to numerous places to store clothes, accessories, books, CDs, any equipment for diving and entertainment on the water;
• a set of food and beverages that meets the needs of all passengers in autonomous navigation.

The very design of this catamaran ensures safety for people due to its high stability: even with a strong wave, roll is excluded.

Just look at this magnificence! You can create a beach in the middle of the ocean using these wide steps and platform, or store your land and water vehicles here. We are talking, of course, about inflatable boats, canoes and folding bikes.

The cockpit flows seamlessly into the saloon (or vice versa) thanks to wide sliding doors. The aft part is completely given over to rest, the main part of the cabin, to be honest, too. It will comfortably accommodate much more than 10 people if you decide to have a party with invited guests from neighboring yachts in the parking lot in the marina.

But in the cabin, a comfortable corner is also allocated for the skipper. His charting table is quite impressive, the panel displays a chartplotter and displays of other devices involved in the management of the yacht, and of course, communications. This is a guarantee that the cat will not deviate from a predetermined route.

The second workplace is located on the flybridge. The helm, which is already traditional for motor boats, is made in the shape of a car steering wheel. On the panel are chartplotters, throttle sticks, a steering joystick, autopilot controls and other devices that control or operate the yacht's equipment. Feels like a racing car on the water surface!

Lagoon Sixty 7 provides a wide range of options for cabin configurations and a full galley, which can be located in the saloon or below deck, in a float. Then it will look like this:

The saloon galley will be located along the side if the buyer prefers this option. Below are the layouts of 4, 5 and 6 cabins, in the latter case, the galley is located in the saloon.

In the 3-cabin version, one float is completely given to the owner. Here, too, the space is divided into several zones - a bedroom, a living room and a bathroom. Very spacious, comfortable and bordering on superyacht luxury.

Guest cabins are also quite comfortable, spacious and equipped with storage space. There are different options for organizing sleeping places.

Each guest cabin has its own bathroom with all the necessary amenities, as well as a separate toilet.

Fountain Pajot New 80

The New 80 sailing catamaran from Fountaine Pajot takes the second place. This is the best work of naval architects and designers of Berret-Racoupeau Design that ever went out into the ocean. In this new model Fountaine Pajot's DNA has gone to the new heights of comfort and has not lost its nature as an offshore sailing cruiser.

A stunning combination of superyacht luxury and sailing opportunities for romantic sybarites. We welcome this split personality, despite the fact that the two halves of her essence are moving further and further away from each other. Makes you wonder to what heights of comfort Fountaine Pajot will be able to bring a sailing double-hulled vessel in the future.

And we don't even mean the foredeck hot tub anymore - who would be surprised about it after the shipyard crammed this tub into the 20 m Power 67 - it was to be expected on the 24 m New 80. Yet the jacuzzi in the owner's cabin... but more on that later.

What impresses me most here is the space and freedom of movement that this sailing catamaran provides on its side decks, which are as wide as the bike paths in the park near my house. And for space in areas for recreation and work, only one word is suitable - expanse.

If you think, looking at the photo above, that this is an ordinary cockpit - look at the image below, and you will understand that this is a BOARD cockpit. On the port side there is exactly the same small saloon that can shelter a small company of close friends or, conversely, provide privacy for a passenger who needs it. And the view of the standard aft cockpit opens behind the sofa.

Well, not quite standard... If this zone can be called a standard, then it remains to congratulate Fountaine Pajot once again with reaching new heights in the development of a niche of comfortable and luxurious sailing catamarans.

This is the cockpit overlooking the saloon, where a large sliding door opens, creating an already huge loft-style space. Now calculate how many guests the owner of the New 80 sailing catamaran can host if he decides to hold a party in the marina.

If you find it difficult to assess the parameters of the saloon, looking into it from the cockpit, here are a couple of shots - not because we clog the place with photos, but because this saloon does not fit in any camera.

Full circular glazing provides a fascinating panoramic view and an influx of natural light. Part of the windows open for natural ventilation.

And this is how the narrowest part of the onboard bow deck looks like, under which there is a locker for storing canoes, boards, kites and other water toys.

And you haven't seen a garage for jet skis yet. It seems that there is enough space for folding bicycles, a motor boat or a dinghy. But there are still doubts about the car. So, the shipyard has the opportunity to expand the comfort zone for those who cannot imagine themselves away from cars.

A huge hydraulic platform on the transom is another relaxation area, the so-called Beach Club.

It remains to inspect one more area above the deck, for which we climb from the cockpit along the stylish and comfortable stairs leading to the flybridge. There is a clear distribution of recreation and work areas. Large comfortable sofas are provided for vacationers. Near the corner sofa there is a table for drinks, and in front of the large sofa there is a full dining table. To prepare snacks, you do not have to go down to the galley to the saloon or even lower. There is also a galley here, as well as refrigerators for food and drinks, an ice cream freezer.

The working area is well separated, and consists of two control stations with helms, helm panels and winches. Three of them are located between the stations, and one each - on the sides. In the roof above the helmsman there are opening portholes, which allows you to follow the sails. Yes, it's still a sailboat!

The rigging includes a 200 m² mainsail and a 140 m² genoa. Despite the size of the vessel, the controls are simple enough to be handled by one experienced skipper. With an assistant, it will be just a pleasant sailing trip. The helms are very obedient, the boat is sensitive to their slightest movements, and reliable stability eliminates the risk of heeling even from a strong wave.

So, we come to the survey of individual housing on the New 80 yacht. Don't be surprised with such a name for the cabins - it suits them just fine. We saw apartments on land that were much smaller, less comfortable and equipped.

And again, I want to pay attention to a feature that speaks of the comfort of the yacht even more eloquently than the upholstery made of genuine leather and veneer. This is an opportunity to take everything you need to feel comfortable on a long cruise - from a complete wardrobe to scuba gear, from your favorite books to a jet ski, etc. In cabins and on decks there is a huge amount of storage space for all your favorite and necessary things, equipment, devices, etc.

In packaging options for New 80 for sale you get several accommodation options for the owner of the yacht and passengers. Depending on the purpose of the catamaran, you can comfortably accommodate from 8 to 14 people here. The owner can also specify the location of the galley - below, in the living area or in the saloon.

Taking into account all the features of the configuration, the following options are offered.

1. MAESTRO version assumes:

• owner's cabin with large bathroom;
• VIP cabin with private bathroom;
• 2 double cabins with private bathrooms and a galley downstairs;
• or 3 double cabins with private bathrooms and a galley above.

2. VIP version for 4-5 guests includes:

• owner's cabin with large bathroom;
• 4 double cabins with private bathrooms and a galley downstairs;
• 5 double cabins with private bathrooms and a galley above.

3. VIP version for 6-7 guests includes:

• 6 double cabins with private bathrooms with a galley downstairs;
• 7 double cabins with private bathrooms with a galley above.

The latter option could be ideal for charters if one decides to purchase such a boat for commercial use. But I think her true purpose is to enjoy long sea passages with a large family, in the company of close friends or paired with a loved one in comfort and luxury, comparable to the level of a superyacht.

 

Lagoon Seventy 7 or Lagoon 77

Jacuzzi on the foredeck or a hangar on the transom?.. That’s some interesting options right there!

And the victory goes to Lagoon Catamarans with her 23m sailing catamaran Lagoon Seventy 7. Not because we consider a Jacuzzi a necessary luxury on a boat, but because this hangar can be easily converted into a boathouse by placing a motor boat there. Don't understand what we are talking about? Then here's a visualization of how you can use the huge cat platform.

An aircraft aboard a catamaran or a motorboat will equally successfully solve the issues of delivering passengers or cargo, and this is much more useful than transporting an additional 3 tons of water on a sailing yacht, albeit with cool bubbles.

And this is how the platform is used if the family travels on the boat - as a sunbathing are and a beach, as well as a pier for canoes and sailboards for windsurfing.

So already at the first glance of the biased (we admit) jury, the sailing double-hull cruiser Lagoon Seventy 7 was doomed to lead this list.

After overcoming the ladder, the second glance involuntarily falls on the deck, and its width on the port side, this adds a big plus in favor of this beast. When multiple people move through it, they will not have to dodge each other at all.

And one walking or hurrying somewhere will feel absolutely free here too. As you can see, the deck is covered with natural teak, which is non-slip, although some people do not like the streaks that remain after sea salt affects it. By the way, the width of the deck on the starboard side is the same - we checked.

After admiring these wide avenues, we move to the cockpit. Even from here you can see that this huge space is divided into zones: dining, rest, kitchen. A small galley is placed on the transom, there is a grill, a refrigerator, a sink, a freezer - a traditional set typical for Lagoon boats. In the recreation area you can find a soft sofa, sunbeds and mattresses. The dining area is a large table with chairs. And you see how much more space remains between these zones. You will not find that much space on a monohull boat of this length, which is why we love catamarans.

Pay attention to these wide sliding doors. Many cat designers already use this technique to expand the space, when the cockpit almost imperceptibly passes into the saloon and vice versa. Such a spacious loft deck, where 10 people feel free, is one of the most significant indicators of the highest comfort.

We must state that Nauta Design and Van Peteghem of Lauriot Prévost (VPLP) when developing the Lagoon sailing twin-hull cruiser Seventy 7 have achieved unprecedented comfort for life in long-distance autonomous navigation, not forgetting the comfort of those who have to manage the catamaran alone, with an assistant or the whole crew.

And this is especially noticeable in the organization of work areas, such as the navigator's table, which we see in the photo above. The table and equipment occupy a significant place in the cabin. Nobody interferes with the crew here. We especially liked that the table is right next to the bar.

The control post is placed on the flybridge, and this working area is also clearly limited from the dining and recreation areas.

The control post consists of two helms, a large panel placed at the helm, where chartplotters are displayed, as well as indicators of all yacht equipment and their controls. Between the steering wheels, all winches are located almost within walking distance. In front of the winches are boxes where the ends are thrown so as not to clutter up the deck.

Portholes in the roof allow you to follow the sails in the process of setting them, although still the view is not enough when you are at the helm. Therefore, when installing, it is better to have an assistant nearby.

The total area of sailing equipment is 337.4 m², of which the area of the grotto with a square top is 205 m². For the operation of two engines with a capacity of 175 hp (optional - 230 hp) fuel tanks size was increased to 2800 liters (and this is better than 3 kiloliters of jacuzzi water bubbles).

The seating area takes up all the remaining space on the flybridge and looks very luxurious.

There is also a mini-galley, refrigerator, freezer and other equipment to prepare food and drinks al fresco without going downstairs.

And you will have to go down either to the saloon or to the float, depending on which version of the cabin configuration is chosen by the owner. This is what the galley (lower) looks like, located below deck, there is also a dining area.

The galley in the saloon (upper) has the same set of equipment, but is located along the side in one line.

And what’s with the cabins in this case? You get 3, 4 or 5 of them. The 3 and 4 cabin versions have an owner's cabin that occupies one of the floats.

The comfort of the master cabin, familiar to Lagoon cats, is complemented in this model by a private beach - a side platform with access to it directly from the cabin.

A large island bed with an approach from 3 sides, a spacious wardrobe, bedside tables, shelves, a locker under the mattress. There is enough room to place everything you need and even more.

Side and ceiling portholes provide natural ventilation and lighting, not to mention a door that opens access to its own platform.

In the case of a configuration for 4 or 5 cabins, both double and single beds can be used. The comfort level of their inhabitants does not decrease, unless there is no private beach and the size of the cabins is reduced. However, it is quite spacious here, and the ceiling does not hang overhead.

Access to sleeping places is free, a lot of light and the ability to ventilate the cabins. Separate bathrooms for each cabin add to the unparalleled comfort that a catamaran provides to the passengers.

Like previous model Lagoon Seventy 7 seems to be more geared towards personal ownership than commercial use. But when you consider that up to 16 people can be accommodated here, it is quite possible that there will be firms willing to purchase this presentable and luxurious catamaran for corporate use.
