Pear-shaped Inflatable Fender - Ø 65 cm

Fenders are hung on ropes along the side of the vessel before mooring and serve as airbags that protect the hull from collisions with the pier. The inflatable shock absorber absorbs impact energy and protects against friction after mooring. This saves shipowners from:

• dents and holes;
• coating chips;
• deep scratches;
• peeling paint.

They are also placed as an insulating gasket between two vessels when docking or joint berthing.

Most often, ball-shaped fenders are placed in the bow or stern, but not always. On long voyages, in rough docks or in unprotected areas with strong rip currents, more reliable protection is required - for this reason many captains prefer to buy more voluminous pear-shaped fenders. With their help, they create a greater distance due to the larger diameter and thus further reduce the risk of damage to the hull.

The installation of inflatable dampers does not require winches and hoists, permanent fixation on the sides of the boat and special fasteners. After being filled with air, they can be freely switched from side to side, adjusted to the required height, and even used as signal buoys or deadweight anchorage mooring buoys.
