If your boat is up to 11.5 meters long, inflatable fenders with a diameter of 24 cm and a length of 70 cm will provide reliable protection for its sides. Such protection is necessary during mooring, sailing, docking in a row of other boats side by side and the passage through a narrow lock. Properly sized and inflated cylinder-shaped inflatable fenders are the best bumpers and dampers. The main thing before buying is to correctly calculate the required diameter and length of the side protection. The indicated cost does not include cables for fastening.

How to ensure the most reliable protection of the ship's sides with the help of hinged inflatable fenders? You just need to take into account a few parameters proven by practice when choosing fenders.

  1. The length of the fender should be 2/3 of the freeboard.
  2. For every 120 cm of the sides, there should be 2.5 cm of the diameter of the inflatable damper. Based on this, you can easily calculate what diameter to choose a cylinder-shaped inflatable fender for a boat of any length. In our case, it will be 1150: 120 x 2.5 = 23.95 cm.
  3. When calculating the required quantity, one should proceed from the fact that one fender should fall on every 2.5-3 meters of the vessel, but not less than three on board.

In order to avoid additional problems for yourself, immediately buy a complete set for both sides. During the voyage, your plans may change, and with them, the conditions for docking and mooring. The passage of a narrow lock or anchoring next to other boats  requires full protection of both sides.

And do not forget to check the pressure in the fenders, depending on your sailing trips, but at least once or twice a year.
