Solemar, an esteemed Italian shipyard acclaimed for its innovative and high-quality boating solutions, is set to captivate the maritime community once more with the release of an advanced new maxi-RIB. Yachtingnews has obtained exclusive preliminary information about this model, anticipated to set new benchmarks in performance, elegance, and comfort for premium cruising adventures. Although details on the project are still under wraps, we provide a sneak peek into what to expect from this groundbreaking maxi-RIB, signifying a significant development in Solemar's progressive narrative.
In a significant move in 2023, the revered shipyard, known for its specialized production of cabin inflatables, was taken over by a consortium of entrepreneurs from Bergamo. This new ownership is rejuvenating the brand's iconic cream-colored vessels, which have been a favorite among boating aficionados for years.
Derived from Solemar's most successful models like the new Solemar 33 and the earlier Oceanic 37 and 44, the upcoming maxi-RIB will be a larger craft incorporating decades of the shipyard's rich heritage and expertise. It will flawlessly integrate classic features of durability, reliability, and modern design that are synonymous with the Solemar brand.
About the new Solemar Maxi-Rib
The meticulously designed new maxi-RIB caters to those who seek a novel experience of the sea. This walkaround model is conceived with attention to every detail to ensure an unparalleled boating experience. The maxi-RIB will boast two separate cabins equipped with a bathroom and provide four berths. An option for an open-space layout is available, enhancing the interior's spaciousness. The inclusion of a large skylight in the center of the boat will bring natural light into the dinette area, which can be converted into an additional fifth berth.
Francesco Ribolini, Technical Director at Solemar, noted, "The deckhouse's new forward position offers a more balanced and streamlined design compared to previous models. The elegant yet bold lines are crafted with the captain’s control and guest comfort in mind." Another notable feature is the crystal windshield, which adds to the vessel's versatility across different cruising destinations.
Propulsion and Technical Specs
Designed to navigate both tranquil and challenging waters smoothly, Solemar’s new maxi-RIB merges exceptional performance with superior maneuverability. The craft will feature two engine configurations: outboard or sterndrive, with deck layouts varying accordingly. The shipyard reveals that the maximum power output will be 1,200 horsepower, ideally through twin 600-horsepower engines, ensuring optimal balance and fuel efficiency. The projected top cruising speed is set to exceed 50 knots.
With its impending launch, Solemar's new maxi-RIB is poised to usher in a dynamic era for the shipyard, promising to be a landmark in its illustrious history.
