Introducing the Aura 51 Smart Electric
The first of a series of electric catamarans to be launched by Fountaine Pajot in partnership with Dream Yacht Worldwide. This French-based builder is committed to reducing the carbon footprint of its products, and the Aura 51 Smart Electric is a step in that direction.
The Aura 51 Smart Electric boasts a zero-emissions design that relies on two lithium battery banks to store energy. Beginning in April, this electric-powered catamaran will be available for charter in Italy, with approximately two dozen electric yachts slated to join Dream Yacht's fleet by spring 2024. Ten of these will be sailing catamarans, while the remaining twelve will be monohull sailing yachts from Dufour, a subsidiary of the Fountaine Pajot Group.
As Loïc Bonnet, CEO and founder of Dream Yacht Group pointed out in a press release, the partnership with Fountaine Pajot will make sailing accessible to people worldwide, while having a lower impact on the environment. Being environmentally conscious is central to Dream Yacht's mission to protect the planet and oceans. This initiative is expected to make a significant eco-difference, as Fountaine Pajot reports that 80% of the carbon footprint of boats comes from their use, rather than their production.
