Real-Time Mapping and Ranking of the Jules Verne Trophy 2024-2025

The Jules Verne Trophy is a race that has been awarding the fastest crewed non-stop and unassisted circumnavigation of the world from Brest to Brest since 1990. Since 2017, Francis Joyon and his crew on Idec-Sport hold the record time of 40 days, 23 hours, 30 minutes, and 30 seconds.

SVR Lazartigue, the route map:

The SVR Lazartigue crew set sail for their third attempt at the Jules Verne Trophy race on the night of January 20 to January 21, 2025, crossing the starting line between the Créac’h lighthouse on the island of Ouessant and the Lizard Cape Lighthouse.

Sodebo Ultim 3, the route map:

Sodebo Ultim 3 ended their second record attempt on the Jules Verne Trophy on January 6. The crew discovered the loss of a central rudder in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Second attempt for Sodebo Ultim 3:

Sodebo Ultim 3 has been put on orange alert (departure within 72 hours). After a technical issue with the rudder during their first attempt, the crew is ready to set sail again for the Jules Verne Trophy. With the trimaran now fully operational again thanks to the technical team's efforts, they are aiming for a successful journey around the world.

First attempt aborted in early December 2024 for Sodebo Ultim 3:

Thomas Coville and his crew headed back to Lorient on the evening of December 3, ending their first attempt at the Jules Verne Trophy due to a major issue with the main rudder of the trimaran. The technical team is currently investigating the cause of the rudder's breakage.

Third attempt for SVR Lazartigue:

The SVR Lazartigue crew activated the green code on the morning of January 20 and left Concarneau to reach the starting area of the Jules Verne Trophy. They are expected to cross the starting line between the Créac’h lighthouse and the Lizard Cape Lighthouse on the night of January 20 to January 21, 2025.

Second attempt for SVR Lazartigue:

SVR Lazartigue is scheduled to depart on the afternoon of December 18, following the green code. This new departure window seems promising for a successful attempt at the Jules Verne Trophy race.

First attempt in 2024 for SVR Lazartigue: The facts

At 1 am on Tuesday, December 3, François Gabart and his SVR Lazartigue crew had to turn back due to a damaged foil from a collision with an unidentified marine object. They are currently heading towards Concarneau and are expected to arrive between Friday and Sunday.

SVR Lazartigue, skippered by François Gabart, began its Jules Verne Trophy attempt on November 30. Despite being 140 miles behind the record, the crew is determined to make a successful circumnavigation. The crew includes Tom Laperche, Amélie Grassi, Pascal Bidégorry, Antoine Gautier, and Emilien Lavigne.
