Raymarine and Zin Boats have joined forces to work on a groundbreaking project aimed at creating what is believed to be the most cutting-edge electric superyacht tender in the world – the Z11.
The Z11 is linked to Feadship’s Project 821, a venture that has been in development for five years and incorporates eco-friendly technology that enables it to cruise and power the yacht’s hotel load and amenities using hydrogen.
Equipped with 400kWh of energy storage, the Z11 features electric joystick steering for improved docking, customized software controls, and other innovations designed to achieve what the company describes as 'world firsts' in the industry.
Operating at a speed of approximately 60mph, the Z11 boasts a 2000hp peak electric propulsion system and can cover a distance of over 100 nautical miles under normal operational conditions.
“Our company's mission has always been to lead the way in the expanding electric vessel sector, and we believe that with the Z11, we have accomplished just that,” stated Piotr Zin, the founder and CEO of Zin Boats.
“We are excited to continue innovating and evolving alongside our exceptional partners and within this industry,” Zin added.
In partnership with Zin Boats, Raymarine has developed a personalized navigation and vessel automation system powered by Raymarine Axiom 2 XL 19-inch and Axiom+ 9-inch chartplotter displays featuring YachtSense digital switching and vessel monitoring.
The Z11 is equipped with support systems commonly found on modern yachts, including a comprehensive navigation and communication package.
The Axiom displays offer user-friendly touch screen control, while Raymarine's remote keypads – the RMK-6 and RMK-10 – provide the operator with tactile control over the Z11's navigation and digital switching functions.
Furthermore, a Ray90 modular VHF radio system and CP100 CHIRP DownVision sonar deliver communication and echo sounding capabilities.
“Teaming up with Zin Boats has allowed us to redefine marine interface design, developing a bespoke software experience that perfectly complements the Z11's innovative electric boating approach,” explained Jamie Dery, vice president of Raymarine Americas.
“This collaboration showcases Raymarine's unique ability to collaborate closely with forward-thinking builders, delivering tailored solutions that set new benchmarks in marine electronics innovation,” Dery continued.
David Donovick, president and COO of Zin Boats, commented, “We have been intensely focused on creating the world's most advanced electric tender and electric propulsion technology, which will be scalable across various boat platforms.”
