In challenging weather conditions, Paul Meilhat completed his circumnavigation by crossing the finish line at Les Sables d'Olonne. Marked by fatigue but filled with immense pride, the 42-year-old sailor was welcomed into the channel with fervor befitting his accomplishment. "This Vendée Globe has been an exceptional human and sporting adventure," the skipper shared upon arrival, highlighting a race where he never stopped fighting despite demanding technical challenges.

Paul Meilhat's race was filled with challenges, with the most significant occurring on January 14 while sailing up the Atlantic. The forestay swivel of his IMOCA Biotherm broke, posing a serious threat to the rigging. With remarkable audacity and composure, he courageously climbed the mast to make the necessary repairs, a crucial moment showcasing his skill and determination. This risky maneuver allowed him to maintain course towards Les Sables d'Olonne while remaining competitive within the fleet.

This success holds special significance when recalling Paul Meilhat's first participation in the Vendée Globe eight years ago. In 2017, he had to abandon the race in the Pacific while holding a promising third position. This time, nothing stopped him.

Since transitioning to IMOCA class in 2015, Paul Meilhat has built an impressive track record. Winner of the Route du Rhum in 2018 and IMOCA Champion in 2021, he has continuously proven himself as one of the best in his discipline. His performance in this 10th edition of the Vendée Globe further solidifies his status.
