Breaking News: Mie Caline yacht experiences mast failure during Vendée Globe 2024
Arnaud Boissières, the skipper of La Mie Câline, informed his team that he had dismasted on Thursday morning. Currently in 27th place, he is making progress over 2,500 miles from the finish line, at the longitude of Cape Verde within a group of five skippers. Arnaud specified that he had secured his boat.
Arnaud Boissières is the only sailor to have completed four consecutive Vendée Globe races, having participated in every edition since 2008 without interruption. Nicknamed 'Cali', the Bordeaux native, now based in Les Sables d'Olonne, was expected to reach the finish line on the weekend of February 8-9.
