Introducing the Latest PLUS Collection by Grand Soleil

Grand Soleil Yachts has recently introduced the new PLUS Line of yachts measuring over 60ft in length.

Leading the PLUS line is project manager Franco Corazza, who collaborates with Matteo Polli, a specialist in naval architecture, and Nauta Design, known for its expertise in interior and exterior design.

The main highlight of this new line is the Grand Soleil Plus 80, unveiled at boot Düsseldorf, with the initial unit of this model currently being built in its Long Cruise version.

Anticipated to set sail in 2026, the yacht is being meticulously crafted entirely in-house following the Grand Soleil tradition, from the lamination process to the eventual launch, as emphasized by Franco.

Utilizing advanced sandwich composite construction techniques with epoxy-based vinylester resin and vacuum infusion methods ensures unparalleled quality due to the team's extensive expertise.

Matteo Polli mentioned that designing the hull lines for an 80ft yacht presents a challenging task, requiring careful consideration and precision.

The Grand Soleil Plus 80 LC will have an overall length of 23.99m and a maximum beam of 6.6m, with its hull featuring narrow bow sections for a smooth entry into the water, even under demanding sea conditions.

Furthermore, the yacht's lines widen towards the aft to optimize internal volume and livability below deck.

Equipped with twin rudders, a telescopic keel, and offering a variable draft ranging from 2.8m to 4.8m, the Grand Soleil Plus 80 LC provides versatility and performance.

Additionally, the yacht comes in a single-rudder version with keel options of various depths, catering to different preferences.

Featuring a carbon mast and boom as the technological core of the rig, the yacht incorporates a V-boom for simplified mainsail handling and rod rigging.

A fixed bowsprit accommodates dual gennakers, offering flexibility for different wind conditions, with additional options such as a furling code zero and a staysail.

Primary Control Lines

Nauta Design has integrated lateral wing islands at the twin helm stations, ensuring convenience and ease of operation.

All primary control lines are routed aft, while the central cockpit is strategically separated from the maneuvering area for efficient navigation.

According to Massimo Gino from Nauta Design, the meticulous optimization of various aspects, including freeboard heights, interior spaces, and cabin sizes, is essential to meet the demands of designing an 80ft yacht.

With a focus on integrating necessary equipment and accessories across different areas of the yacht, the Grand Soleil Plus 80 aims to embody the qualities and functionalities usually associated with larger vessels, ranging from 95 to 100ft.

The unveiling of the New PLUS Line from Grand Soleil signifies a significant milestone in the world of luxury yachting, promising innovation and excellence in design and performance.
