MasterCraft Boat Company has recently unveiled the latest XStar series of its towboats, marking a significant upgrade to its flagship model.
The new XStar line has undergone a complete redesign from the front to the back, resulting in a revamped 23ft version and introducing a brand new 25ft model to the lineup.
One of the key highlights of the 2025 XStar models is the incorporation of the new MasterCraft Aft Audio Experience (MAAX) system. This cutting-edge audio setup includes six subwoofers, ten speakers in the cockpit, four tower speakers, and six transom speakers. Moreover, the system boasts seven customizable audio zones, with dedicated zones specifically designed for surfers.
Enhancing the audio experience is the Z100 tower, which features power folding functionality and dual switch stations for convenient adjustment from either the helm or swim platform.
Among the additional features are underwater, RGB, transom, and docking lights, a powered and adjustable helm seat, as well as wireless chargers placed throughout the interior for added convenience.
Greg Miller, the vice president of global sales at MasterCraft, described the new XStar as more than just a vessel – it represents the pinnacle of MasterCraft's commitment to innovation, performance, and luxury. He emphasized that as the flagship model, it symbolizes both the company's illustrious heritage and its forward-thinking vision.
Equipped with an Ilmor Supercharged 6.2L engine delivering an impressive 630hp and 665 lb-ft of torque, the new models also feature MasterCraft’s SurfStar system. This system is coupled with a brand-new hull and ballast design to enhance performance on the water.
MasterCraft's FastFill technology, boasting high-flow pumps, enables the rapid filling and emptying of ballast tanks at a rate of approximately 60 gallons or 500 lbs per minute.
Furthermore, the hull modifications have been specifically crafted to counterbalance the propeller effects of the supercharged engine. With over 1,500lbs of additional dry weight compared to its 23ft predecessor, the new XStar generates more significant amplitude for consistently impressive wakes.
At the helm, a 15-inch central display complements a 12-inch touchscreen, providing intuitive control for the captain. Additionally, a four-camera visibility system enhances safety and maneuverability.
Through the MasterCraft Connect app, customers can enjoy heightened connectivity features, including boat health diagnostics, tracking behind-the-boat activities, locating nearby fueling stations, and more.
