Crafting a Unique Vessel: The Process of Building an Exceptional Custom Yacht

The construction of the new C-Tender 55 yacht is well underway, with a technical launch planned for March. This unique vessel is being custom-built using cutting-edge techniques usually reserved for larger superyachts.

The design of the C-Tender 55 is specifically tailored to meet the needs of its owner, who hails from the Hamptons and intends to use the yacht for short, swift cruises before mooring it at the pier of his villa in an area with shallow waters.

To meet these requirements, the shipyard has opted for surface propeller propulsion and utilized carbon fiber extensively in the construction process. This approach ensures that the yacht is lightweight, high-performing, and has a shallow draft, allowing it to anchor close to beautiful beaches.

The project benefits from a talented team, including Mauro Corvisieri overseeing the work, Davide Zerbinati supervising construction, Francesco Rogantin of NAMES handling naval engineering, and Valentino Gabriele collaborating with Paolo Tamburini on the exterior and interior design.

Davide Zerbinati, the project manager, explains, "The client desired a sporty boat capable of exceeding 40 knots. We chose to utilize carbon fiber extensively to maintain low weight without compromising strength."

One of the yacht's innovations is the use of a specialized 3D printing technique called CF20 to craft exterior furniture, offering flexibility in design.

The yacht features high-quality materials throughout, including epoxy fairing, Alexseal paint, and a custom metallic Bentley blue paint job. The onboard electronics system allows the owner to control the yacht from three joystick stations, while top-of-the-line Xenta and Volvo Penta systems ensure exceptional performance.

Additional features include a tropical-grade air conditioning system, Raymarine electronics with augmented reality, a thermal camera, and three large screens for enhanced navigation safety, even at night.

The technical launch of the C-Tender 55 is set for early March, promising an exciting new addition to the world of naval engineering.
