Ex-CEO of Correct Craft Passes Away at 87

Walter N. Meloon, known as Walt, who was the former CEO of Correct Craft and a member of the Wakeboarding Hall of Fame, passed away at the age of 87.

Walt, the grandson of Correct Craft's founder, dedicated 52 years of his life to the family boat business.

During his long career, Walt played a crucial role in driving innovation at Correct Craft and establishing the company as a leader in the market.

For 18 years, Walt served as the president and CEO of Correct Craft, and he was also the distributor at Southeast Correct Craft, overseeing the development of numerous new products.

In a tribute, Correct Craft highlighted that Walt's legacy was deeply rooted in the values and principles set forth by the Meloon family when the company was established in 1925.

Correct Craft acknowledged Walt's contribution to the development of the wakeboard tower, a groundbreaking innovation that revolutionized the watersports industry.

Furthermore, Walt played a pivotal role in the Ski Nautique Paragon project, setting the stage for the luxury and high-performance towboats available in the market today.

In recognition of his significant achievements during his tenure at Correct Craft, Walt was inducted into the Wakeboarding Hall of Fame in 2020.

Bill Yeargin, the current president and CEO of Correct Craft, shared his gratitude for Walt's leadership, emphasizing the lasting impact he had on the company.
