The elegance of a past era is evident in every detail of the classic 45.75m (150' 1") luxury yacht KALIZMA, originally constructed in 1906 and meticulously refurbished in 2021. This stunning vessel now operates as a luxury charter yacht, offering accommodation for up to 10 guests in five magnificent staterooms.
Designed by GL Watson and built by Ramage & Ferguson, the motor/sailing yacht KALIZMA, previously known as MINONA, made history as the first steam-powered yacht with electric lighting. She served as an Auxiliary Patrol Yacht during World War I and as a rescue boat in World War II. However, it was her association with the love story of Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor that brought her the most fame. In 1967, the couple chartered the yacht for a cruise and were so enamored with their experience on board that they eventually purchased the yacht and named it after their three daughters (Kate, Liza, and Maria). Legend has it that Burton presented Taylor with the iconic 69-carat Taylor-Burton Diamond while on board.
The couple frequently posed for photographs on the yacht, with its timeless beauty providing the perfect setting for a luxurious charter vacation. Guests can unwind on the sun deck, dine al fresco, or engage in exciting water activities, all while basking in the classic charm of the vessel.
The interior of KALIZMA is simply breathtaking, combining traditional wood paneling with a mix of contemporary and timeless furnishings to create a sophisticated and inviting ambiance. Soft ambient lighting ensures a cozy atmosphere during evenings, while the staterooms offer a peaceful retreat, each uniquely designed and equipped with luxurious ensuite bathrooms.
In the summer of 2025, KALIZMA will return to the Mediterranean, where it hosted many romantic and family getaways for Hollywood's elite. Embark on your own romantic journey or unforgettable family adventure aboard this exquisite charter yacht and become a part of her storied history.
