The most recent editions of the Discover Boating Atlanta, Chicago, and New England boat shows have welcomed over 65,000 visitors. These events, organized by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), have indicated a resurgence in buyer confidence based on the positive feedback received.
The Discover Boating Chicago Boat Show premiered at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, receiving favorable reviews from both exhibitors and participants.
The Saturday attendance levels set a new record, marking the highest since January 2020 before the onset of the pandemic.
Steele Johnson from Gordy's Lakefront Marine remarked, "We noticed a very positive reaction from our customers regarding the new location in Rosemont, leading to increased attendance and improved outcomes for Gordy's and Cobalt Boats compared to the previous year."
Terry Anderson of SkipperBud’s shared, “The 2025 Chicago Boat Show exceeded expectations. We observed growth in all key performance indicators – from leads generated to finalized deals and sales at the pro-shop.”
“The footfall remained consistent throughout each day, with significant visitor traffic even until the closing hours.
“The overall sentiment among attendees was highly positive, with a noticeable increase in clients hailing from regions near the lakes we primarily cater to.”
The Discover Boating New England Boat Show witnessed numerous exhibitors reporting promising sales figures, catering to both returning and new customers.
“This year's New England Boat Show has generated a higher number of quality leads compared to previous editions. Our network of dealers has successfully closed multiple boat sales with repeat customers and first-time boat owners.
“This event consistently attracts attendees from various parts of New England,” noted Aaron Krenzer of Chaparral Boats.
Kim Driscoll, the Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts, attended the show and emphasized its significance for the region.
“We are fully committed to ensuring the success of this show, not only for all of you but also because of its substantial impact on our economy,” Kim stated.
“Last year, the show directly contributed to the creation of 372 jobs during its five-day duration, resulted in $13.8 million of labor income, and injected over $28 million into the state’s annual gross revenue.”
The events were conducted in collaboration with Progressive Insurance.
