Ribcraft, a prominent manufacturer of rigid inflatable boats (RHIBs), has announced a strategic partnership with Edencraft to start production in Australia. This collaboration marks a significant phase in Ribcraft’s strategy to broaden its global footprint, specifically targeting the Australian market with locally produced vessels for defense, government, and commercial use.
Under the new agreement, the production of Ribcraft RHIBs will occur at the Edencraft facility located in Geelong, Victoria. This facility is set to become the central production hub for these custom-built boats that adhere to the stringent Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV).
The advantages of this collaboration are manifold. Not only will it align with the Australian Made campaign, promoting local manufacturing, but it will also ensure compliance with national safety standards. This move is expected to bolster Ribcraft's market presence in Australia and facilitate the export of their RHIBs to the Asia-Pacific region.
Enhancing the maritime supply chain is another key objective of this partnership. By manufacturing within Australia, Ribcraft intends to streamline operations and improve service delivery across the Asia-Pacific markets.
Adelina Florescu, the Managing Director of Ribcraft Australia, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the benefits of combining Ribcraft’s renowned RHIB designs with Edencraft's legacy of quality and technological advancement. "We’re delivering world-class, Australian-made RHIBs that support defense, law enforcement, and search and rescue operations, advancing Australia’s sovereign capability," Florescu stated.
Edencraft, with nearly four decades of experience, brings to the table substantial expertise in advanced manufacturing technologies, including a state-of-the-art robotic 5-axis automated machining center. This technology is pivotal in their specialized plug and mold making processes.
Josie Eastman, General Manager of Edencraft, commented on the partnership's significance for the company’s growth into new sectors. "By combining our robust manufacturing capabilities with Ribcraft’s proven designs, we are set to fulfill the rigorous demands of Australia’s defense and government operations," Eastman remarked.
Ribcraft has an extensive portfolio of manufacturing facilities worldwide, including locations in the UK, India, Middle East, USA, and now Australia. The company specializes in producing custom vessels for military forces, coast guards, commercial entities, and search and rescue (SAR) teams globally. Their RHIBs are particularly noted for their deep V-hull and custom inflatable collars, which provide added stability and impact protection.
The initiation of Ribcraft RHIB production in Australia is a strategic move that promises to enhance local industry capabilities and expand the company's reach throughout the Asia-Pacific region, reinforcing its commitment to providing high-quality, durable maritime solutions.
