AkzoNobel has revealed its intention to invest €22 million in the Montataire site to position it as a key hub for the production of decorative paints.
This initiative entails a decrease of up to 211 positions alongside the addition of 29 new jobs in France.
The proposal has been formally presented to the employee representatives and workforce of AkzoNobel in France.
AkzoNobel states that this strategic move underscores its enduring dedication to industrial excellence and its activities in France.
These actions are crafted to streamline, modernize, and optimize AkzoNobel’s operations, ensuring sustained success while upholding a robust presence in France.

The outlined plan is centered on enhancing competitiveness and fostering sustainable growth through operational streamlining.
The company also intends to revamp its commercial and support functions, as well as its distribution network, which includes transitioning certain outlets to independent partners and closing others.
AkzoNobel aims to gradually execute these plans between May 2025 and the conclusion of 2026.
In 2024, AkzoNobel declared the shuttering of its manufacturing facilities in Groot-Ammers (the Netherlands), Cork (Ireland), and Lusaka (Zambia).
Production activities from these sites have been relocated to alternative locations within the region.
The organization presently employs 1,300 individuals in France.
