The fender is navy blue in color, has a shiny, smooth glossy surface and does not fade. It is made of polyvinyl chloride by seamless casting, which ensures the preservation of stable pressure inside the chamber, strong walls and their uniform thickness around the entire perimeter.
PVC is immune to salt water, constant exposure to ultraviolet radiation, weather, the influence of microorganisms, fungi and mold. Resistant to mechanical deformation, therefore, it is widely used for the production of ship shock absorbers of all types.
Usually there are several fenders of various types and sizes on board - it is not always possible to stop only at equipped docks. Most shipowners prefer to insure against potential damage in advance rather than to pay a fortune to repair holes and chips in the coating.
With fenders like this one you usually need to buy one per every 3 meters along the length of the hull and so that it covers approximately 2/3 of the freeboard along the length. When docking to floating pontoon berths, the height may be less. Boats that are mooring to floating berths usually install fenders right above the waterline.
