Forced to divert to La Rochelle after crossing the line, as the weather conditions were not suitable to ensure a safe arrival in Les Sables d'Olonne, Benjamin Dutreux yesterday and Clarisse Crémer tonight respectively finished in 10th and 11th place in this 10th edition of the Vendée Globe.
A top 10 finish for the native of the island of Yeu
Under a stormy sky and in particularly challenging conditions, Benjamin Dutreux, skipper of GUYOT environnement – Water Family, crossed the finish line of the Vendée Globe yesterday at 4:41pm, after 77 days, 3 hours, and 39 minutes at sea. The sailor clinched a splendid 10th place, the result of a journey marked by daring strategic choices and unwavering determination.
A tough finish for Clarisse Crémer
This Monday at 4:36am, Clarisse Crémer, skipper of L’Occitane en Provence, crossed the finish line of her second Vendée Globe, completing an adventure of 77 days, 15 hours, and 34 minutes.
But in the meantime, the race goes on for the twenty or so competitors still in the running.
