Notable updates: the large stainless steel handrails have been removed, which will please anyone who is tired of excessive polishing. Instead, the handrails were molded into the roof of the cabin, providing the model with even greater streamlining. What’s inherited from the predecessor is the location of the hatches with access to the engines in the cockpit, allowing to check them safely on the go.
Most of the improvements in design and construction are aimed at providing maximum team comfort. This may include:
- removal of lighting control on the panel in front of the steering wheel: now there is no need to go down to the salon to turn on the running lights;
- moving of the steering wheel to the left – as a result, the mast does not block the view;
- automatic stacker allows one person to control the catamaran;
- Harken electric winch helps in adjusting the boom-sheet.
Comfort for guests is ensured by a convenient layout and accessibility of all areas without any effort, since the cockpit, saloon and galley are located on the same level and form a single space thanks to sliding door partitions.
Lagoon 46 is available in 3 or 4 cabin options. Traditionally, the right hull is designed for the owner with all the necessary amenities. The guest cabins also take into account all the needs of people traveling by sea.
A pair of Yanmar diesel engines allows for a speed of 8.5 knots, while a more comfortable cruising speed is 7 knots. The reliability and safety of the housings is ensured by the new and already proven vacuum infusion technology that prevents damage from osmosis.
