Specifically designed for outboard motors equipped with alternators ranging with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 20 poles, inclusive, and also features a convenient hour counter. Using electronic principles, this tachometer precisely monitors the revolutions per minute (RPM) of the engine by tallying pulses produced from diverse origins, including the ignition system, alternator, tach signal generator, or magnetic pickup sender.
Connecting the tachometer to +12vDC, Ground, and the designated signal source is all it takes to set it up correctly. The tachometer includes a switch on the back that allows you to indicate the number of pulses sent per engine revolution, ensuring accurate RPM readings.
