The 4G onBoard Compact is an integrated Internet solution tailored for boats, delivering 4G connectivity for up to 150 users simultaneously. Featuring a compact 25 cm diameter dome, this all-in-one system provides both wireless and wired Internet signals, remotely activated by the Scout SIM Extender.
With the Scout SIM Extender, the dome's location becomes irrelevant, ensuring a reliable connection through a standard RJ45 Ethernet cable that spans up to 100 meters without signal loss. Additionally, the dome facilitates an extra LAN Ethernet cable for building a wired network inside the boat, a recommended feature for larger boats and aluminum vessels.
Placing the SIM Extender conveniently allows users to insert the SIM card without requiring a power cable, drawing power directly through the Ethernet cable. This eliminates the need to access the on-board router for SIM card management, especially advantageous when the dome is in a challenging location. The SIM Extender also enables swift SIM card replacement during international travel, optimizing data consumption and connectivity planning, thus eliminating signal losses associated with radio frequency cables.
Equipped with 2 4G antennas, MIMO technology, carrier aggregation, Cat 6 up to 330 Mbps, and WiFi at 2.4 GHz, the 4G onBoard Compact operates wirelessly via a user-friendly app (available for iOS and Android) or in wired mode through the LAN Ethernet cable. The plug-and-play system requires only a 12V power cable (included), while the SIM Extender's indoor unit (SIM injector) draws power directly from the Ethernet cable linking it to the dome.
With powerful 4G antennas, the 4G onBoard Compact ensures connectivity to the 4G network up to 20 miles from the coast. In the event of a 4G signal failure, the system seamlessly transitions to 3G technology.
Transforming the boat into an advanced Internet hub, the system supports a dedicated high-speed wireless network and a wired network (LAN 100 Mbps). Compatible with a range of new-generation electronic devices, including chartplotters, radios, smart TVs, IP cameras, tablets, and smartphones, the 4G connectivity allows for HD streaming on platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, and music streaming services like Spotify.
