The LiFePO4 battery incorporates robust protective measures against cell under voltage, over voltage, and extreme temperatures. Initial defense is provided by integrated cell balancing in all Victron LiFePO4 batteries. The secondary protective line, managed by the VE.Bus BMS, ensures:

Cell Under Voltage Protection: Initiates load shutdown in the face of imminent cell under voltage.
Cell Over Voltage, High Temperature (>50°C), or Low Temperature (<0°C) Protection: Triggers either load shutdown or reduction of charging current when these critical thresholds are approached.
The VE.Bus BMS serves as the central control for this protective layer. However, for loads or chargers beyond its direct control, the system incorporates VE.Bus BMS controllable Cyrix switches. Notably, the Cyrix-Li-load is designed to disengage when its control input is free-floating.

Should the battery voltage recover after disconnection, and no other loads are connected, the BMS output rises, allowing the Cyrix to reengage after 30 seconds. After three unsuccessful reengagement attempts, the Cyrix remains disengaged until the battery voltage surpasses 13V (or 26V or 52V) for at least 30 seconds, indicating ongoing recharging.

Alternatively, the use of a BatteryProtect is an option, offering the advantage of extremely low power consumption.
