The NMEA 2000 Tank Adapter YDTA-01 facilitates the connection of an existing resistive or voltage-type fluid level sensor installed on a tank, enabling the display of fluid levels on NMEA 2000 devices, including chart plotters and instrumental displays.
This versatile device accommodates European (10 to 180 Ohm range), American (240 to 33 Ohm range), or Japanese (0 to 310 Ohm range) standard fluid level sensors. It is also compatible with nonstandard sensors with a maximum resistance below 400 Ohm and sensors producing an analog voltage signal in the 0 to 16 Volts range.
Installation options include standalone use as a measuring device, parallel connection with an existing analog gauge (supporting 2-coils and 1-coil gauges, refer to Picture 2), or parallel integration with a Volvo Penta engine's MDI (Mechanical Diesel Interface) box. Compatibility extends to combined gauges featuring a button for value selection.
Calibration flexibility is provided with 12 calibration points, ensuring accurate readings for tanks of various shapes. The device's settings allow compensation for parasitic resistance in sensor wires.
Featuring a Micro SD card slot, the Adapter supports configuration, firmware updates, diagnostics, and data logging. No specialized software is necessary; a device (laptop or smartphone) with a MicroSD card reader and a simple text editor suffices.
Additionally, the Tank Adapter can be repurposed as a pressure sensor adapter, functioning with a Volvo Penta KAD/TAMD oil pressure sensor or other resistive or voltage pressure sensors. This adaptability enhances its utility in marine applications.
