The Yacht Devices NMEA Bridge serves as a powerful solution, unifying two distinct physical NMEA 2000 networks into a single logical network while facilitating seamless message exchange between them. The device further supports advanced filtering and processing capabilities for transmitted messages, offering a range of functionalities:

Overcome Network Limits: The NMEA Bridge allows users to surpass the physical limitations of NMEA 2000 networks, including cable length restrictions (100 meters for regular cable, 250 meters for heavy or mid-type cable) and the maximum device capacity (50 devices). By deploying multiple bridges on a network with an address capacity of 252, the system can expand to accommodate around 250 physical devices.

Isolate Devices: Using a simple filter, users can selectively block the transmission of all or specific messages from a designated device in a separate subnet, providing effective device isolation.

Equipment Functionality: The device enables users to ensure proper equipment functioning by correcting transducer offsets, eliminating invalid data from partially operational equipment, and executing 2- or 3-line scripts for specific tasks.

Compatibility Across Generations: The NMEA Bridge facilitates compatibility among equipment from different generations by allowing the creation and transmission of various NMEA 2000 messages using data from other messages within the network.

Network Diagnostics: The device aids in diagnosing malfunctions within the NMEA 2000 network by recording network messages and debug data on a MicroSD card in a text file. Users can view this data on smartphones or tablets with MicroSD slots, eliminating the need for a computer. Additionally, users can create and edit programs for the device directly on their mobile devices.

Diagnostics Software: The supplied free diagnostics software supports Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. It enables the playback, viewing, and conversion of binary log files containing NMEA 2000 messages from both CAN interfaces.

Safe Device Connection: The NMEA Bridge allows the safe connection of devices that do not adhere to NMEA 2000 standards. One of the CAN interfaces on the device features high-voltage galvanic isolation and can operate at a higher supply voltage.

Create Gateways: Users can create gateways for networks based on the CAN protocol, operating at speeds of 50, 125, 250, 500, and 1000 kbps. While the programming language is not designed for full-fledged applications, it can be used to create gateways, such as from a J1939 network to NMEA 2000.

Encrypted Program Distribution: The device supports the distribution of encrypted programs, protecting them from unauthorized copying and/or modification.

In essence, the Yacht Devices NMEA Bridge provides a versatile and sophisticated solution for enhancing and expanding NMEA 2000 networks, addressing various challenges and enabling advanced functionalities.
