The Exhaust Gas Sensor is a high-performance device designed to measure temperatures of extremely hot gases, solids, and liquids within a broad range from 0 to +800 °C (+32 to 1472 °F).

This versatile sensor, initially configured to transmit data as "Air Temperature" to ensure compatibility with all chart plotters, can be easily reconfigured to display other temperature-related metrics such as "Exhaust Gas Temperature," "Heating System Temperature," or "Engine Room Temperature."

Installation is a breeze with its plug-and-play functionality; simply connect it to a NMEA 2000 backbone to instantly access temperature readings on all NMEA 2000 chart plotters and onboard instruments.

Temperature measurement is facilitated by a thermocouple located outside the sensor case, featuring a flexible 90-cm (3-foot) sheath with an internal heat-resistant fiberglass insulation layer. While the wide temperature range is impressive, the accuracy is ±5.5 Celsius within the range up to 330 °Celsius, improving further below 100 °Celsius, and at the upper limit (800 °C), the accuracy is ±11.5 Celsius.

For users requiring enhanced accuracy, the Digital Thermometer YDTC-13 is recommended, offering a ±0.5 °C measurement error and a range from −55 to +125 Celsius (−67 to +257 °F).

Beyond temperature measurement, the sensor provides user-configurable digital switching capabilities. Users can set it to turn on or off specified channels of digital switching equipment based on temperature thresholds. For instance, it can automatically activate ventilation or trigger an alarm when the engine room temperature exceeds a specified limit and deactivate these functions when the temperature returns to normal (refer to Section VIII of the Manual for detailed instructions).

The sensor's memory stores measurements of the last 48 hours, allowing users to retrieve historical data through compatible software or hardware.

Designed for seamless integration into NMEA 2000 networks, the Exhaust Gas Sensor is compatible with various equipment supporting this protocol, including Raymarine SeaTalk NG, Simrad SimNet, Furuno CAN networks, and Garmin devices using the NMEA 2000 Micro connector.

The sensor is supplied with SeaTalk NG and NMEA 2000 Micro Male connectors, facilitating easy connection to networks of different manufacturers without the need for adapters. The device model is prominently displayed on the case, ensuring straightforward identification.
