Utilizing Raymarine's Hydro-Balance™ technology, this system delivers exceptional autopilot performance, particularly for hydraulically steered boats with outboard motors and rudder-reference-less systems. It effectively addresses the elasticity of the hydraulic system, the imbalances in the steering system, and the effects of torque steer, ensuring consistent and dependable maintenance of the desired direction at various velocities.

Anglers will appreciate the Evolution Autopilot's built-in trolling patterns, allowing them to focus on bait preparation, line setting, and spread adjustment while the autopilot handles the boat. The Evolution TrackIQ™ algorithms further enhance track-keeping accuracy and speed in acquiring tracks. By incorporating vessel pitch, roll, yaw, and heave information, this system stabilizes GPS navigation data, such as course over ground, speed over ground, and cross track error, resulting in optimal tracking performance for waypoints and routes.

The EV-1 Sensor Core is a notable component of this autopilot system. Encased in a rugged enclosure, it meets IPX6 and IPX7 waterproofing and submersion standards. This sensor core can be mounted above or below decks, providing precise monitoring of vessel motion in three dimensions: heading, pitch, roll, and yaw. Featuring solid-state sensor technology, it ensures dynamic accuracy within 2° under any conditions. Additionally, it automatically compensates for onboard magnetic fields, ensuring reliable heading accuracy even in extreme northern and southern regions. The sensor core delivers fast and dependable heading data for various applications, including MARPA, radar overlay, and heading modes on Raymarine multifunction displays. Seamless integration with the control head and ACU is facilitated by SeaTalk ng connectivity, simplifying the setup process.

The p70Rs Control Head, designed for powerboats, combines rotary dial and push-button controls. Its user-friendly LightHouse interface is easy to learn and operate, and the start-up wizard facilitates quick configuration of the autopilot. With wide horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 160°, the control head ensures optimal visibility. The advanced LED backlighting consumes minimal power while providing vibrant color and contrast. An anti-reflective coating improves visibility in bright sunlight. The control head offers a range of autopilot modes such as Auto, Standby, Pattern, Track, Wind Vane, Power Steer, and Jog Steer. It also offers support for multiple data sources and features SeaTalk ng/NMEA 2000 and SeaTalk 1 connectivity, eliminating the need for bridging.

The ACU-150, also known as the Actuator Control Unit, is an essential element of the Evolution autopilot systems specifically engineered for boats equipped with hydraulic steering mechanisms. It houses the primary power and drive electronics, allowing direct connection to the steering system and a 12-volt DC electrical source. To complete the autopilot system, pair the ACU-150 with a Type 1 12-volt hydraulic drive unit. This combination is suitable for hydraulic steering systems with a steering ram capacity between 4.9 cu. in. (80cc) and 14.0 cu. in. (230cc). Incorporate the EV-1 sensor, autopilot control head, and Type 1 hydraulic pump, and you'll have a fully integrated autopilot system.

For boats equipped with traditional hydraulic steering systems, the Evolution autopilot, driven by a hydraulic pump, provides precise control. The hydraulic pump connects to the boat's hydraulic steering lines, enabling the autopilot to steer the boat by regulating the fluid flow through the steering system. The Evolution autopilot Actuator Control Unit (ACU) controls the hydraulic pump, ensuring efficient autopilot operation.
