The 5G onBoard Compact is an integrated high-speed Internet solution designed for boats, offering 5G connectivity for up to 150 users simultaneously. Condensing the advanced features of the 5G onBoard Compact, this compact system features a single dome (25 cm Ø) providing both wireless and wired Internet signals, remotely activated by the Scout SIM Extender.
The inclusion of the SIM Extender ensures flexibility in dome placement, with a standard Ethernet cable (RJ45) securing the connection to the SIM card, reaching up to 100 meters without signal loss. A unique advantage, the SIM Extender eliminates the need to access the on-board router for SIM card management, particularly beneficial when the dome is positioned in challenging locations. Additionally, the system facilitates quick SIM card replacement during international travel, optimizing data consumption and connectivity.
Equipped with 4 5G antennas, MIMO technology, carrier aggregation, Cat 20 up to 3.3 Gbps, and dual-band WiFi at 2.4/5 GHz, the 5G onBoard Compact is managed wirelessly through a user-friendly app (available for iOS and Android) or in wired mode via the LAN Ethernet cable. The plug-and-play system operates with a 12V power cable (included), while the indoor unit of the SIM Extender (SIM injector) draws power directly from the Ethernet cable linking it to the dome.
With powerful 5G antennas, the 5G onBoard Compact ensures connectivity to the 5G network up to 20 miles from the coast. In the event of a 5G signal failure, the system seamlessly transitions to 4G and 3G technologies.
Transforming the boat into an advanced Internet hub, the system supports a dedicated high-speed wireless network (Dual-band WiFi 5) and an ultra-fast wired network (LAN 1000 Mbps). Compatible with a range of new-generation electronic devices, including chartplotters, radios, smart TVs, IP cameras, tablets, and smartphones, the 5G connectivity allows for HD streaming on platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, and music streaming services like Spotify.
