The SmartSolar Charge Controller, equipped with Bluetooth Smart technology, offers a wireless solution for seamless setup, monitoring, updates, and synchronization of multiple units. The ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) enhances energy harvest by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers, especially in dynamic light conditions.
Featuring Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection, the controller optimizes energy harvest in partial shading scenarios, avoiding local MPP locks. With outstanding conversion efficiency exceeding 98% and no cooling fan, it ensures reliable and silent operation.
The flexible charge algorithm, fully programmable (refer to the software page on the website), and eight pre-programmed algorithms, selectable via a rotary switch, enhance customization. Electronic protection includes over-temperature, power derating in high temperatures, PV short circuit, reverse polarity, and PV reverse current protection.
Equipped with an internal temperature sensor, the controller compensates absorption and float charge voltage based on temperature. Optional external battery voltage, temperature, and current sensing via Bluetooth are supported using Smart Battery Sense, BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor, or SmartShunt.
For synchronized parallel charging with Bluetooth, up to 10 units can be linked. The controller features a fully discharged battery recovery function, reconnecting to a fully discharged Li-ion battery with an integrated disconnect function.
Data connectivity options include VE.Direct for wired connections to Color Control GX, other GX products, PC, or other devices. The controller supports remote on-off functionality for integration with VE.BUS BMS and programmable relays for alarm-triggered events.
Additionally, an optional SmartSolar pluggable LCD display can be easily connected by removing the rubber seal on the front of the controller and plugging in the display.
