Smart Battery Sense is a wireless sensor designed for Victron MPPT Solar Chargers, offering precise monitoring of battery voltage and temperature. This sensor enhances charging efficiency and extends battery life by ensuring optimal charging conditions.
By measuring voltage directly at the battery bank terminals, it eliminates errors caused by voltage loss through cable resistance, ensuring accurate charge-voltage. For lead batteries, temperature data is utilized to adjust charge-voltages based on environmental conditions, while for lithium batteries, charging is disabled in extremely cold temperatures to prevent cell damage.
The wireless connection via VE.Smart Network, utilizing Bluetooth Smart technology, enables seamless communication between Smart Battery Sense and one or more Solar Chargers connected to the same 12V, 24V, and 48V battery bank. Setup is user-friendly with the VictronConnect app.
Installation is straightforward and neat. Connect the unit's eyelets to the battery terminals and affix the Smart Battery Sense unit directly onto the battery body using its self-adhesive strip, providing a tidy and efficient solution for battery monitoring.
