NMEA 0183 is a combined electrical and data specification for communication between marine electronics such as echo sounder, sonars, anemometer, gyrocompass, autopilot, GPS receivers and many other types of instruments.
This chartplotter features a 9" touchscreen display that is designed to be easily readable even in direct sunlight. It offers user-friendly functionality and can be easily detached from its bail mount. The transducer bundle includes advanced scanning sonar technologies such as Ultra High-Definition and CHIRP traditional sonar, which enhance its capabilities.
When used with Garmin transducers (sold separately), this chartplotter becomes compatible with the Panoptix LiveScope scanning sonar system. This cutting-edge technology provides real-time, detailed visualization of the boat's surroundings. High-contrast scanning sonar color palettes ensure improved target and structure differentiation.
The bundle of transducers also contains a GT56 transducer that allows for the use of Garmin's CHIRP traditional sonar, as well as Ultra High-Definition ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonars. With three scanning sonar frequencies and a 20% extended range for UHD SideVü sonar, it performs exceptionally well at different depths.
Integration with optional BlueChart g3 Vision coastal charts offers comprehensive coverage and detailed information, combining Garmin and Navionics content.
Users can create personalized fishing maps directly on the screen, featuring precise 1' contours. These maps can be kept private or shared with the Quickdraw Community on the Garmin Connect app.
In a boat equipped with multiple compatible ECHOMAP UHD or ECHOMAP Ultra devices, the 7" and 9" versions can share data, including sonar readings, user information, and charts.
The chartplotter supports NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 networks, enabling seamless connections with compatible autopilots, digital switching systems, weather data, Fusion-Link audio systems, media devices, VHF radios, AIS receivers, engine data, heading sensors (like the SteadyCast sensor), and more. All these functionalities can be accessed from a single screen.
With integrated Wi-Fi capability, the chartplotter can be wirelessly connected and paired with a mobile application that offers a wide range of features. These features include OneChart, smart notifications, software updates, Garmin Quickdraw Community data, and various other functionalities.
Controlling trolling motors is made easy, as users can command powerful and efficient models directly from the chartplotter's screen. Navigating to waypoints, following tracks, and performing other functions can be effortlessly accomplished.
For a comprehensive overview of engine performance, the chartplotter can connect to different engine types, including select models from Mercury and Yamaha. It displays important information such as RPMs, fuel flow, temperature, trim, and other vital data, providing a convenient and easily accessible interface. It is recommended to consult with the engine manufacturer for compatibility and any additional hardware requirements.
