The Router stands as an intelligent NMEA 0183 and SeaTalk multiplexer, offering seamless data viewing from marine devices on PCs or smartphones. It grants access to essential marine network data, encompassing vessel course, speed, position, wind speed and direction, water depth, AIS messages, and other navigation data across popular software applications.
Featuring four physical NMEA 0183 ports (four inputs and four outputs) with configurable speeds from 300 to 115200 baud, the Router facilitates organized data exchange among multiple devices with varying speeds. It supports multiple physical listeners connected to its outputs.
With SeaTalk, a proprietary binary protocol of Raymarine company, the Router features a single SeaTalk port equipped with a bi-directional converter supporting all known SeaTalk datagrams, including autopilot control. This integration enables seamless communication between SeaTalk autopilots and NMEA 0183 chart plotters and marine apps.
The Router establishes its Wi-Fi network with a range of approximately 30 meters in open spaces or can integrate into an existing Wi-Fi network. It boasts three network data servers configurable for UDP or TCP network protocols, compatible with virtually all marine software, including OpenCPN, iNavx, Navionics Boating App, MaxSea, and others.
Settings adjustments are made via any Wi-Fi enabled device (laptop or smartphone) with a web browser, offering flexibility in selecting outputs (physical port or TCP/UDP server) for any data source. Individual data filters can be defined for incoming and outgoing NMEA 0183 or SeaTalk data at any physical port or network server, allowing traffic reduction on slow connections.
A pair of Wi-Fi Routers can serve as NMEA 0183 or SeaTalk wireless extenders, facilitating wireless connection among multiple physical devices. Additionally, wireless bridging between an NMEA 2000 network and NMEA 0183 devices is achievable by pairing the Router with Yacht Devices NMEA 2000 Wi-Fi Gateway.
The Router automatically records track data with weather, depth, and other information to internal memory, accommodating up to 32000 points. These records can be saved to GPX or CSV files from the internal web interface.
Key features of the Router include:
- Duplication or replacement of instruments or complementing obsolete instruments.
- Built-in web gauges for real-time vessel data viewing via browser.
- Four physical NMEA 0183 ports (300 - 115200 baud), one galvanically isolated.
- Support for both "single ended" (RS-232) and "differential" (RS-422) NMEA 0183 connections.
- Flexibility in routing and data filtering between ports and servers.
- Compatibility with virtually all marine applications.
- Capability to act as NMEA 0183 or SeaTalk wireless extender.
- Support for TCP and UDP protocols, functioning as a Wi-Fi Access Point or connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network.
- Inclusion of an internal web server for diagnostics, firmware updates, and configuration.
Despite its waterproof casing, caution is advised due to open terminals, which may be prone to short circuits when exposed to seawater. Avoid placement in areas susceptible to water exposure, rain, or water spray.
