Italian shipyard Azimut Yachts is expanding its Verve range of outboard sport cruisers. This series appeared in 2020 with the debut of the Verve 47 model, which has gained great success in the market (66 of them have been built so far), thanks to the almost complete absence of competitors in its niche.

It is a fast cruising boat that combines the functionality and speed of center console fishing boats, glamorous looks, comfort and practicality. And now a more compact 42-foot (12.8 m) model has joined the Verve series.

The Verve 42 is, in a sense, an even more concentrated concept of such a weekender boat. With a length of 13 m, it is more accessible, which radically expands the demographic range of potential buyers, including young customers. At the same time, despite the shorter length, Verve 42 is almost as comfortable as the older model.

The only difference is that on the Verve 47 both cabins are isolated, while on the Verve 42 the forward cabin, equipped with a sofa that transforms into a double bed, serves as part of the lower deck saloon during the day.

The forepeak sleeper is complemented by a queen-size double berth amidships, and you can always freshen up in the shower, which is almost 2 meters high.

Externally, the Verve 42 looks like a sports car on the water, reminiscent of the Italian cars of the 1970s. It behaves in the same way on the move: the hull with redans and a ventilated tunnel moves quickly but gently due to the reduction of water resistance.

With three 400 hp or 450 hp Mercury outboard engines Verve 42 has a top speed of up to 45 knots, and in cruising mode it can travel 200 nautical miles without refueling at 33 knots. Add here a stylish "driving" helm station with three seats, plus a laconic but chic interior and it becomes clear why Azimut Yachts has already received orders for thirty-three Verve 42 hulls: those who want to buy this model now will have to wait a couple of years for their boat.
